You read the title correctly. Red Hat Enterprise (normally $179) has a new version out (4.0 Beta 1, Codename Nahant) which they are offering to the public free of charge. If you have any interest in testing a new release of a server system, this might be a good opportunity for you.
I found Red Hat to be a nice operating system. While I have never tried Red Hat Enterprise (Red Hat once it became a commercial product) I am anxious to see what its all about. You can bet I'm adding Beta 1 to my distro collection.
"Red Hat Enterprise Linux v. 4 Beta is a preview of the next generation
of Red Hat's comprehensive suite of enterprise operating systems --
designed for mission-critical enterprise computing and certified by top
enterprise software vendors."
