Best Buy Plans to End Mail-In Rebates
Posted :: Apr 4, 2005 by Haggs

According to Business Week, Best Buy Co. “said it will phase out mail-in rebates over the next two years, bowing to customer complaints.” The Chief financial officer (CFO) of Best Buy Co., Darren Jackson, said that the mail in rebates will be phased out over the next two years. During this time Best Buy Co. will evaluate how they will be able compete with competitors that may still choose to use such rebates. The current plan is to shift the focus from mail in rebates toward their “Reward Zone” program where customers pay a membership fee and earn points on purchases that can then be used for discounts on future purchases.
