Microsoft to Debut Windows XP Ad Campaign
Posted :: Apr 19, 2005 by Haggs

Yesterday, Microsoft launched a 15-month advertising campaign to promote the Windows XP operating system. Microsoft wants people to "rediscover" Windows XP while Microsoft prepares Longhorn (the next version of Windows). While Microsoft declined to say how much it will be spending on the advertisement campaign, an advertising trade report Adweek estimated that the campaign will cost Microsoft $100 million. Adweek's estimate is based off of Microsoft's estimated 50+ TV commercials which will be shown in 11 countries. The campaign is backed by advertisement agency McCann Erickson, which is part of Interpublic Group of Cos. Inc.

More information about the advertisement campaign can be found here.
