Latest Video Drivers from ATI, nVidia, Omega, and DNA

Every now and then it can be helpful to bring your video drivers up to speed for compatibility and performance reasons. Outdated drivers can cause unwanted glitches during fast paced game play, low frame rates, and other problems. In an effort to bring readers up to speed, Absolute Insight has compiled a list of the latest video driver versions for both ATI and nVidia based graphics cards.

There are generally two sources for video card drivers. The first, and most obvious, option is to download directly from ATI or nVidia. Computer users that are looking for the most support and ease of installation should probably stick to these first party drivers. The second option is to use third party drivers created by driver tweakers or modders.

Over the years two main sources of external drivers have emerged. Both nVidia and ATI video card users can choose to use drivers from DNA or Omega. Each third party driver offers a variety of installation options and tweaking tools to provide users with increased flexibility and fine tuning. Of course since Omega and DNA are third party sources, it may be more difficult to acquire needed support should something go wrong.

The Absolute Insight staff have experienced installing, using, and benchmarking drivers from both third and first party sources, and had success with both. That being said, the latest versions of drivers are linked and described below for your convenience. Don't forget to read the release notes for more information on each driver!
