He awoke from his slumber with a jolt, unaware of how many years, or decades had passed. Remembering very little of the time before he entered his sleep, the one thing he did know was that it was time once again. His eyes wandered around the small cave in which he sat. He slowly began to rise and wander about the room. His old body was very stiff, having not been used in many years. He walked over to the corner of the cave, felt around a bit, and spoke very quietly. A hole opened in the side of the cave, containing various magical items, and a large stash of coin. "Good it's all still here," he thought to himself, "I guess I'm ready to start over." He grabbed his staff, cloak and a small pouch of coins, closed the hole, and left the cave. As he exited the cave, he turned quickly, and waved his arm casting a spell over the cave to make it appear empty. He then continued on his way, walking down the mountain and heading towards town. Nothing would stop him this time, nothing.

(Here it starts, and since I liked this as its written, we will leave it at that. If you have QUESTIONS about something written in a post, or are confused, make a note like this at the bottom, in parenthesis.)

he awoke from his ages long slumber with a jolt. he had slept long enough. it was time once again for him to continue forth on his endless journey. it was time again to sense emotions, it was time again to feel auras of good and evil around him, it was time again to travel to the mountains, live in the forest, sail on the sea. it was time again to live life for this lone far seer. he got up and made his way to the sleepless oak in which he had placed his staff, food, drink and currency before his centuries long sleep."well well, after all these years, this beauty is still standing." he at once grabbed his things from teh oak and started on his way toward the old town in which he used to reside before beggining his life as a nomad, and a feeling of goodness filled his heart as he sensed that all was right with the world.

as he approached the town of D'ny, he at once saw that it was no longer a town, but a city bustling with inhabitants, brick roads, several small streetcorner markets and many, many buildings. a short, crooked figure was heading toward him and immediatly the far seer recognized who it was, and greeted him with a smile, and the former did the same.
"Fergond, its you! where have you been hiding all these ages?"
"Not hiding, friend Guldorn, traveling the vast world that is beyond the boundaries of this fine city."
"We are having our night of assembly, perhaps you can tell us of your wonderous adventures then?"
"i suppose i could stay for the night."
"exellent! I shall reserve your seat in the telling of tales."
"thank you, friend. Now perhaps i can stay in your home to pass the night?"
"Yes, that would work out."
"i must now leave you, i am very much curious as to what this city holds."
the two old friends then parted, Fergond heading toward the markets and Guldorn into the corwd of elvenfolk that resided in the town.

He dusted his cloak as he stepped into the tavern. As he slowly wandered up toward the bar, he looked about and took note of all the strange people that surrounded him. At one table, a pair of drunkards were having a lively argument over who's turn it was to tip the bartender. Dispising the consequences of intoxication, he decided to change his course and sat down at an unfinished table toward the back of the establishment and began pouring over a small, leather bound notebook. His eyes slowly scanned the runic symbols he appeared to become more and more entranced. After a few minutes had passed he was fully engaged in his reading and neglected to notice anything that was going on around him.

It took quite a bit of walking for his old body to once again move as it used to. His joints lost their stiffness, and he quickened his pace slightly. He follow the road that led into town. Many things were different. His last memories of the place, which were few and vague, seemed to be of a small town. It had definatly grown since. As he got closer he began to notice what appeared to be a crowd of elves. Being a human himself, he decided to avoid them, he turned back and made his way the short distance to the tavern located on the outskirts of the town.
He walked through the door, and stopped just inside to evaluate the place. A rather dimly lit bar, spotted with the usual drunkards. As he walked toward the bar he noticed a strange figure sitting in the back of the room reading what appeared to be a notebook. Unable to notice any identifiable characteristics about the person, he turned to the barkeep.
"Excuse me, barkeep. What is today's date?"
"Why today is the 19th of August." Replied the barkeep.
"Hmm, I see. And the year?"
With a rather confused look on his face, "Tis 1276 sir."
"Thank you." Replied Everon.
Interesting, 1,000 years had passed.

He slammed the book shut then quickly got up and dashed out of the tavern. Once outside, he untied his horse and rode to visit a the sage of his home town. He rode for days and days, pressing himself and his horse well beyond fatigue. When he finally arrived home he nearly fell from the horses back as he dismounted. Throwing himself against the sages door, he collapsed.

as fergond strolled through the town, he noticed many changes. the old wooden and straw huts were now replaced with stone and mortar buildings constructed by true artisans, and not by the commonfolk of the town, and the streets were also of the same nature, as opposed to the crude dirt road that used to run through town both ways. the streets were also full with horses, people, and animals all mingling in the same areas. beautiful fountains with their descending columns of water decorated the intersections, and the markets were prospering. gone were the homeless bards of the old town and were replaced by carefully planted trees. the entire town of D'ny seemed to undergo a miraculous transformation in his absence. a long, hairy hand of a market seller shot out before him.
"any apples of the fine forest, my good man? they cure disease! make pain go away!"
"no, thank you." Fergond replied.
"the sellers havent changed thats for sure" he thought to himself.
as Fergond rounded a corner, he felt a profound change in atmosphere, and saw it as well. something was wrong...

Roy woke with a startle, realizing the sun was now up and in full bloom and he had not done any work yet. It was his birthday, and this meant he was finally old enough to leave and make a name for himself in the world. He hurriedly donned the hard leather suit of armor his father had made for him and ran into the main living quarters of his family's farmhouse. He spotted the worn leather cap and placed it squarely over his head, adjusting the straps as needed as he walked over towards his sword set. Seeing as he was only a swordsman of the vast frontier, he weilded only dual wooden swords. After attaching his only two means of combat unto his hip, he grabbed his boots and was out the door. Armed with a minimum knowledge of magic, and flashy, yet exceptional skill with his swords, he was confident he would find adventure in no time. He set off to venture through the West Woods so that he might make it to the nearest village his father spoke of.

He had spent 4 days travelling the plains through knee-high grass. The days were long, with the glaring sun beating down on his back. This wasn't his idea of adventuring at all. He thought it would be glorious battles and unfathomable treasures. Alas, he had seen nothing but buzzards. When at last he saw the expansive forest not more than a day's walk, he let out a sigh of relief. As with all large landscapes, Roy's eyes were deceived and it took him anohter 3 days to reach the forested hills versus the one he had hoped for. The shade of the great trees was a welcome change in scenery to Roy, yet the lack of noise was not. A quiet would be fine, but the absense of sound entirely made Roy uneasy. He coughed, breaking the silence and reassuring him he had not lost his hearing. The dirt road ahead of him began to fade into nothing but matted down grass, and the silence had been once again broken by the groaning of trees, bending with age and shouting threats of collapsing to the rest of the forest. He put a bit of a hustle into his walk, now power-walking through the entrapment of roots and underbrush. Something behind him made a 'snap' in the thicket behind him and he quickly spun to engage whatever was following him. Seeing nothing he turned around and let out a loud cry. A portly man stood afront of him, yet he was leaning to one side. This man, also appeared quite pale, and there were unhealed wounds covering his body. A soft, squishy plop sound was made as part of his grotesque face fell off the bone and landed on the ground. It stared at Roy through bloodshot eyes and Roy grabbed his swords nervously.
Roy took a forward step and puffed up his chest. "Speak thy name, beast! Are you what they call a... chimera? I've heard of your sorts from my father.."
The large decaying figure spoke in a raspy voice. "I.. am Enthros. Are.. you here.. to free me?"
"Umm, what dost thou mean? I am on my way to a town in the east named D'ny. Are you going to try to kill me?"
"No lad.. I just want.. you to go into D'ny and get my staff.. My house is near the.. town centre. It's a large.. house."
"I shall get it for you, sir. You can count on me!" With that, Roy took off running past the large corpse-like figure, part due to urgency, and part fear of the animated dead figure. After exiting the dark woods, a bright spot on the horizon signified the large city. His destination was now within reach.

SLAM!
Everon quickly spun around to see what the loud sound was just in time to see the strange figure sprinting out the door.
"I guess he's in a hurry." said the barkeep.
"It would appear that way." replied Everon as he stood up.
He thanked the bartender once again and, staff in hand, walked out of the tavern.
He got outside just in time to see the strange figure galloping away on his horse into the horizon.
"That person just keeps getting stranger and stranger, I wonder what's going on with him." Everon thought to himself as he walked towards the town.
As he approached the town he began to hear the usual hustle and bustle of a thriving city. He walked down the road towards the center of the city, merchants hawking their wares to his left and right. He continued on until suddenly he noticed something strange down an alley. It was on the opposite side of the road from him, and with people passing back and forth in front of him he was unable to get a good look. He did however notice a strange looking fellow looking on from just around the corner.

((Just to make sure ya know whats going on here. Everon is now standing across the road from the corner that Fergond just turned. Pretty much behind him. I didn't describe what was causing the "change in atmosphere", as its your thing, but Everon is here now, on the other side the street. =|| <- the road. Fergond just turned left, Everon is standing on the side of the road where the arrow is pointing.))

as fergond surveyed the part of the alley where he felt the change, he couldnt find any obvious hints as to what triggered the mysterious feeling in him. he dare not walk into it for the fear that it might be a snare of some kind, but if it was a snare, who was it for, and why? just as he asked himself this question, he saw shocking evidence as to what he felt. a man from the other side of the street was walking toward the area, and just then, somwhere halfway down the road, he vanished. fergond could not believe his eyes. he stared at the spot where the man dissapeared, and just then, the same man appeared on the road directly to his left. by this time forgond was completely at loss of how to proceed. he stared at the man with wide eyes, and open jaw, and the man looked at him as if he were crazy.
"how...how did...how did you do that?!" fergond stuttered to the man.
"thou is insane! i did nothing but walk down the street. thou must not know how to use thy legs, and yet, are standing. thee must surely be insane" the man replied, and walked away.
fergond kept staring at the man, when he noticed another person walking toward him from across the street, looking very curious about what was going on. the man reached fergond and inquired,
"what are you doing and why is that man of such interest to you?"he said.
"i dont know...he just vanished then appeared again." fergond replied, with utter confusion in his voice. as the former was ging to reply, a young figure with two swords came running in the town and ran right into fergond and the curious man, knocking both of them down onto the road in a heap.

(i forget, can i make up other characters dialogues? if not, then sorry, feel free to delete this and ill think of something new.just so you guys know whats going on, the "curious man" is everons character from across hte street, as in everons last post and the young figure with two swords is rocket squirrels character, roy.)

Roy quickly picked himself up and aided in helping the older gentlemen stand. "A thousand pardons, my lords. In my haste, I was not watching where I was running."
Fergond spoke up, brushing Roy's hand away, "Reckless child! Thou must watch where thou travels, lest ye run into someone not as forgiving as I."
Roy puffed his chest a bit, staring down the man, "I am no child! I am an adventurer on a quest!"
Everon put his hand on Roy's shoulder. "An adventurer with bravery and strength, yes. Yet ye lack experience, most vital of any aspect."
Roy looked down, lacking the arrogance to say something back to the obviously seasoned adventurers.
Fergond addressed him again. "What's your name, lad? And what is this quest ye undertook? Must ye retrieve a loaf of bread for your mum?" with that, Fergond and Everon began to laugh with eachother. Roy became slightly enraged at this, but knew that losing his cool now would only end poorly for him.
"I am Roy Kotetsu of the plains to the east of that forest. And if you must know, a chimera told me to retrieve his staff for him."
Fergond and Everon stared at eachother, and at the boy. "A.. chimera? Are you sure it was a chimera? Because you surely wouldn't be here if it was a chimera you encountered in those woods."
Roy furrowed his brow a bit, as if pondering. "Well, it was jsut like my dad had described. It was very pale, looked like a human, yet he smelled kinda like unsalted meat that had been sitting out for a month. He also had lots of wounds on him, made me feel kinda queasy.."
A silence soon came over them.

"...He also had lots of wounds on him, made me feel kinda queasy." replied the boy, with a confused look upon his face.
Everon thought to himself, "A chimera, interesting..." as the other two sat silently surely pondering such things as well. Not liking the situation he had been sucked into, and just down right sick of being "friendly" he decided to part ways with these two and eavesdrop on them instead.
"Well, by now I am surely running late to my destination. I wish you well in your quest young Roy. And to you sir," turning to address the strange fellow who had so brilliantly fallen for his mind tricks. "I hope you find your vanishing man."
With that, Everon parted ways and began walking slowly down the street.
"Haha! I've still got it." He thought to himself reflecting on the 'vanishing man' he had made that strange fool think he saw.
Once he had walked far enough down the street, he ducked out of sight in an alley and cast a spell on himself to make him appear as a normal peasant. He turned around and hurried back to the other two, who were still there talking amongst themselves. Everon approached a nearby merchant and listened in on their conversation...

As the strange looking man left, Fergond commenced to question Roy on what exactly he saw.
"are you sure what you saw was a chimera?" Fergond inquired.
"im not very sure, just a guess, but i can describe the creature once more."
"go on"
"it was very pale, and looked to be an old man, who had many fresh wounds on him that were very much bleeding, it seemed that some of his flesh was falling off in pieces, and he didnt seem to notice, all he wanted was his staff."
Fergond froze. he had realized that what this boy saw was nothing even close to a chimera, but something dangerous, and could easily have killed him.
"Boy, that was no chimera! that was the plague of undeath that the man had, and could have easily killed you had you not obeyed!"
" yes sir.....sorry.." Roy answered, looking down at the ground like everything taht happened was his fault.
"dont apologize to me, boy, but rather lead me to where you saw this hideous man."
Roy obeyed, and led Fergond out of the City of D'ny in the direction from which he came. "it was this way, sir".
"dont call me sir, call me fergond, thats my name."
once Fergond and Roy were a good distance from the city, Fergond stopped and began concentrating hard on something.
"whats wrong, Fergond?" Roy asked, very curioius to know what the old far seer had in mind.
"tell me boy, from what direction did you come dashing out of the woods?"
"why, in the direction were going,"
"thank you, thats all, now stay here,"
"wha..." before Roy could finish his sentence, Fergonds staff began glowing with a whitish hue to it, and a blinding light ensued from Fergonds staff in every direction. fergond then muttered something in an ancient language, and then something incredible happened. the undead man appeared in front of Roy, staring directly at him. Roy screamed. he began to run, when he noticed that it did not seem to take notice of him, or even see him. it was as if he wasnt there at all. he heard Fergond chuckling.
"no need to be afraid, boy. this is merely of what is to come if we keep going on our path. i like to call what i just did foreshadowing. is this the creaure you met on your way to D'ny?"
"y...yes..." roy replied, who was still startled by the recreation.
"then we shall continue forth," fergond said. he then took hold of his staff, and with a swift wave of the staff, the recreation was gone. as soon as the recreation dissapeared, they heard a rustling in a bush nearby. they turned around, and saw the leaves move once again as it rustled, but noone was there.....

(the person behind the bush could be anyone that joins in, or everon could continue on his story in his earlier thread by following us.)

"Thank you, that's all, now stay here." said the man.
"Wha..." started roy as the man began to conjure up something.
Everon, who had been following them from town now hid in a bush nearby. Having conjured up many things himself, he knew what was to come. He hid his eyes from the blinding light that would be upon them shortly.
As the light faded, he heard a scream, Roy had been frightened by the image, and had nearly taken off back to town.
"No need to be afraid boy, this is merely of what is to come if we keep going on our path. I like to call what i just did 'foreshadowing.' Is this the creature you met on your way to D'ny?" said the man.
"Y... Yes" stuttered Roy.
"Then we shall continue forth." said the man.
Just then Everon's staff slipped from his hand and fell onto the bush, causing it to rustle. Dropping anything is a rare mistake, but none-the-less he quickly snatched up his staff and hid in his cloak.
"Tis a good thing I kept this old thing." Everon thought to himself, refering to the cloak he obtained from his master centuries ago. "Ahh, my old master, the invisibility spell he cast on it still works even."
Roy and the man whipped around to see what the sounds were about, but could see nothing there.
Convinced that it was just a forest creature, they continued on through the forest, with Everon following stealthily behind. This time he chose to keep a larger distance between them. They walked for what seemed like hours. It appeared that the man was getting impatient with Roy.
Finally the man stopped and turned to Roy with an annoyed look upon his face he said...
