Artist :: Sandbox Heroes
Genre :: Pop-Punk
Locale of origin :: Mid-Michigan

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of seeing three bands at a Detroit club: Sandbox Heroes, Promise Falls, and Boink. Throughout the next few weeks we will be doing a short review on each of these bands.

The first of the bands I saw was a band named Sandbox Heroes. This quartet pounded out a solid show from the first chords. Playing a mix of Pop-Punk and Emo they have a very refreshing sound. With plenty of palm-muting and quick, intensive riffs they managed to keep my legs moving throughout the entire show. While some songs were slightly slower, the band plays mostly up-beat, quick-paced songs. Sandbox Heroes are a Christian band, but by no means a "Praise" band. Their catchy music would be appreciated by all walks of life.

In my opinion, this band has a good deal of talent for their age. While still in their early college years, their lyrics stand out from other bands.

"Honestly, I don't think you're making it,
angel that spark in your eyes, has been replaced with a darkness so cold,
and tragically, they all know you're faking it,
and you can't deny who you are or where you've been,
but angel I'm breaking your fall"
Sandbox Heroes - "Honestly Angel"

Sandbox Heroes is made up of:
Bryan Baker - bass
Justin Baker - drums
Andrew Losen - guitar, vocals
Evan Baker - guitar, vocals, keyboard
Evan and Bryan are brothers, and Justin just coincidentally has the same last name of Baker (no, really, only two are brothers).
