Sorry for any inconvienience this causes people. We have had an influx of spam-bots making accounts. I've been deleting about 5-10 bogus users each day. So i've started work on an image verification mod for registering users. Hopefully will be up and working tonight. Sorry if the forum goes down accidentally during this...

With only one problem (that broke the registration page for a short time), the image verification is in place. Thats right, no more bots! Hurrah!

generates a 6 letter word (or string of letters), stores them in a variable, you type a word, it compares what you typed to what word it generated, if its ok, then good, otherwise, it yells at you =P

yeah, some days id jus see a string of 5 or more new users with similar names, then id see them go away, then new ones appear. repeat cycle.

I thought the image verification was an option that could be configured within the Boards Admin settings?

Unless thats only something you can do with the Invision Power Boards? Otherwise, great work, I know how hard some of that coding can be.

Most likely only native to invision. PHPBB is easy to mod though =P

no, i must admit, the guys who made PHPBB are 1337..
its an amazing set of scripts. After playing with it, and modding it, and stuff like that, the way it is laid out it so amazingly easy for others, i can't imagine making a program that modifyable...

Yeah, I checked on one of the phpBB forums that i've got installed on my server and I was surprised to see that Image Verification wasn't setup.

Oh well, i'm loyal to Invision, never had a thing for phpBB.

If you guys know anything about PHPBB, I'd highly suggest getting a copy of the scripts and going through to see the way its laid out... Honestly beautiful!
