Anyone into drawing and stuff, whether it be on the computer or on paper?

I was thinking, if it gets approved by the Admins, that we could have a once a month competition.

You'd create something and submit it anonymously, it could even be an in game screenshot that you could enter. Then there would be a poll to vote. After a week of voting the winner (with the most votes) would get recognition on the front page of AI.net (or whatever the Admin's decide)

Rules would be like:
Max size of 1024x768
Can only enter once
Must PM entries to Host of comp to keep anonymous until comp is over
Can't vote for yourself
Must be own work
etc.

The reason I say to keep the contest submissions anonymous is to stop favouritism.

So what do you think?

Cheers

I like it, I'm always for new ways to spice up AI.
If I might throw a few suggestions in:
Submissions could be PM'd to me/haggs, who could then put them up (to keep it anon.), and then everyone in the forum gets to vote for their favorite (you can vote for yourself, as no one should know who voted where, and you obviously want to win =P).

Winner could easily get recognition on the front page of AI, along with a bit about the piece, etc, maybe even prizes after a while...

Anyone want to add to it?

With the submissions, i'd wait until a certain amount has been submitted, then put them up for voting. Say, 20 submissions is the cut off or wait 48hours and then however many submissions you have, start the poll.

Another thing i'd like to add is, we could have a different theme for each month.

Could be grunge, only allowed to use certain colours, etc.

Screenshots is another thing that might get people who can't draw to enter *Cough*Kompakt*Cough* Laughing Razz

Yes, as long as its been produced by yourself.

Taking a screenshot of a desktop which isn't yours doesn't really count. But taking one of a situation in a game is because you've set it up yourself.

And yes, Photo's count, again, as long as you took it yourself.

Ahh, contests, yes that would be good. Maybe we could do a digital photography contest? Or someone could find a java game and we could all compete for high scores (as long as everyone is honest) in a friendly competition?

Yeah ^_^. Pick something and start a poll of that game vs a nature photography contest!
