Apple Computer on Thefacebook?

Apple has begun advertising on Thefacebook.com, a website popular among college students for keeping in touch and forming interest groups. The recently formed "Apple Students" group boasts 114 members and directs them to a section of the Apple website made especially for college students. At the site, students can enter to win an iPod, learn about Macs in academic settings, and even submit their own photos, video and music for other students to view and rate.

I suspect that this isn't the end of companies using the face book as an advertising vehicle, and apparently a free one at that.

Facebook frustrates me. You join groups and add friends to your list and then...what? Then what?

Don't get me wrong, I did it too - but I don't really see the point. I guess you could use it to meet girls, but the times I tried it it was just kind of awkward - and I didn't really end up pursuing anything with those girls.

Then what? What do you mean, then what? You obviously brag to all your friends about how many friends you have on the face book and how many face book clubs you've joined.
