My poor 2.8C @ 3.3 ( No it won't go any higher. Yes, whatever you're thinking, I've already tried that Razz ) is getting a bit long in the tooth ( a little over 2 years Shocked ), so methinks it's almost time for a new rig.

Right now I'm looking at 7800's in SLI and I'd like to get a SCSI array, but I don't think I could handle the noise, so I'll probably have to settle for some of those 16MB cache beasts. Razz

Not sure yet if I'm getting a FX 55 ( or maybe 57 Twisted Evil ) and running close to stock ,or getting something a bit cheaper, running some water, and stretching it till it breaks. Mr. Green

It will probably be a couple weeks to a month before I start putting it together since I'm moving sometime this week I think, and it will take me a bit to get everything straightened out, but I'll post a parts list when I start finalizing things Very Happy

I haven't had as much time to keep up with current technology stuff as I'd like to, so if you have any suggestions, please post them Very Happy

A large portion of the funding for this monster will come from my beloved TV, it would be impossible to get it to my new place without breaking it, so I have to leave it in some stranger's care. Crying or Very sad

How much $ do you have to blow on this thing, and do you need a monitor to go with it?

Have a few people interested in my TV for $3k, and my surround sound stuff for a few hundred more, was going to spend that and a little more.

My monitor is still beautiful, I might replace it, but I'm not sure Razz

But I think my rig fund may be temporarily getting spent somewhere else, I am looking at a Corvette now ( I doubt he'd trade straight up for my TV Crying or Very sad )

Holy moly, for the first time in my life, I have access to web space that I'm actually supposed to have access to. It feels wierd Razz

Theres a picture of it, now all I have to do is do something about the price that he wrote on it and that stupid looking fin or whatever its called on the back. Razz

I think I may have hijacked my own thread Embarassed

Mods, feel free to delete this thread, after reading over it again, I feel like the other thing that people call donkeys, but I'm not sure if I can say those words here, so I'll leave it at that Wink

Oh, it's just my work van, it is just quite comical.

There is only one door on it that works, and it is the sliding door on the side, I have to climb into my the driver's seat over all my equipment through that door Laughing

It was attacked by an angry goat, so it is scratched and dented.

It was hit by a tire that a big truck lost, so one of the headlights is a little low and to the left, and the driver's door only swings about halfway open. ( It opens from the inside )

I lost the front bumper in a duel while waiting in line at Dairy Queen. Some genius just decides to throw it in reverse and not look to see if someone was pulling in behind them.

I lost the rear bumper while waiting at a stoplight.

This van ( 1989 something or another ) didn't have a scratch on it when I got it in February of this year.

Apparently we do not make a good team Shocked

Isn't your boss gonna be kinda pissed that you ruined the new van? It doesn't sound like this stuff would be considered "normal wear and tear"

The van is mine Laughing

I paid $300 for it, I really didn't expect it to run as long as it has.

I could drive a company vehicle if I wanted, but it's not really worth it for me. They shave money off of each installation that you do to cover the cost of the van, and it would cost me over $1,500 a month to drive a company vehicle.

The last tech in the territory I used to work in who knew what I was doing other than me ( seniority be damned ) got promoted to boss around a few techs in that area, and didn't need his van anymore, didn't have any place to put it, and I jokingly said "Hey, I'll give you a few hundred for that beast if it still runs", and he said "Sure."

And that is how you get a van for $300.
