Keyword Advertising

As you may have noticed, on longer articles, Absolute Insight has started using keyword advertising.

What?
The program we are using is called "Intellitxt". Articles will (possibly) show up to 6 (never more) highlighted words. These words will be double-underlined and colored green. If you move your mouse over one of the highlighted word, a tool-tip will be shown with a short summary of the advertiser.

Why?
We have decided to include the advertisements to help offset the cost of bandwidth. We chose intellitxt specifically because we felt it was the least intrusive method of creating revenue.

What if I don't want them?
We feel that the majority of people will not notice any change in their use of Absolute Insight, however, should you not want to see the keyword advertisements, you have two options:
1: Don't move your mouse over the double-underlined words.
- This will prevent any tool-tips from appearing, and you will notice almost no change from the original articles.
2: Turn off Javascript.
- Intellitxt runs solely in Javascript. Some browsers (early versions of Internet Explorer) don't have support for Javascript, in their case, they won't see any advertisements on Absolute Insight. If you turn off your Javascript (an option somewhere in your browser's settings most likely), you won't see them either!

The AI team has worked hard to keep AI ad-free, and until now all costs associated with running the site have come out of pocket. With the new revenue, we will (hopefully) have a new source of funding for new upgrades and better content.

Yeah, bandwidth isn't free, and that is definitely the least noticable advertising Cool

In this world you always have to be careful how you use the word free. We have a limited "free" package with our host right now that has a very limited amount of free bandwidth and storage space. We often find ourselves exceeding these few gigs of free bandwidth and paying out of pocket each month.

After a while of paying out of pocket, it starts to add up. Then, when you compound the need to purchase review items, pay for shipping review items, prize giveaways, etc. it can get expensive.

I hope that clears up the situation for ya. So while yes, we do get a limited amount of bandwidth and space for free, we exceed that alotment on a regular basis which has been comming out of pocket for quite some time now.
