Ok for doom 3 requirements i found a lot saying radeon 7000 will run it, so their obviously very old. Here is what seems to be the most accurate...
_____________________________________________________________
Doom 3 Requirements

Minimum:
CPU: 800 MHZ - 1 GHZ
GeForce 3 TI/ATi 9600 Pro
RAM: 256 MB RAM

Standard:
CPU: 1,7GHZ-2GHZ
GeForce 4 TI 4400/4600/ATi 9700/Pro
RAM: 512 MB RAM

Optimal:
CPU: 2.5 GHZ - 2.8 GHZ
GeForce 5800FX/5900FX/ATi 9800 Pro
RAM: 786-1024 MB RAM
_____________________________________________________________

hmmm, i should be able to run it just fine ^^ almost 100% optimal. Those are some mean requirements Shocked

i dont think so, i remember that at the end of the original doom they tried to make it sound like the game had a point... oh wait! yeah, they try to make it seem like they were conducting an experiment and it went terribly wrong and all these monsters came out, i guess it was a portal of some sort... not sure but you can see the trailor here just click on trailor, youll see what i mean

Night, the graphics card matters more than the processor. As far as game requirements go, I would make sure you at least meet the standard requirements or try to get close to the optimal. We still have more than a month till Doom 3 and probably more than that till HL 2, so that gives people some time to save their pennies for a new video card.

no i dont think its a remake of the first one, because the first one really had no story. I think you're in Mars and theres some sort of Invasion and you have to get out...alteast thats what ive read

even if it DIDNT have a story im still gonna play this game

and is this always the same guy in the Doom Games
all you ever see of the guy in Doom is his face constantly looking left to right on the bottom of your screen, or his face is drenched in blood or something...

I suggest you do some research if you'd like to figure out the real story. I'm sure they have the whole thing written up for you to read all about somewhere on their site. I just hope that Doom 3 brings something new to the FPS genre and makes playing multiplayer fun again. I very rarely am interested in the single player aspects of FPS games.

I have played doom 3.... and it was ok. My friend had the leaked beta at the lan party i went to last night. I dont know what the settings were at because you cant change them or the controls or anything, but it must have been at 800x600 res because of all the rigid edges on everything but it still looked amazing. And even at the low settings they give you it was a bit of a challenge for my little TI 4800 se. but it is scary! you walk into a room and you can hear the zombies whispering and you dont know where its coming from.... creepy stuff!

The Doom Instruction Manual wrote:
You're a Soldier, one of Earth's toughest: hardened in combat and trained for action. Three years ago you assaulted a superior officer for ordering his soldiers to fire upron civilians. He and his body cast were shipped to Pearl Harbor, while you were transferred to Mars, home of the Union Aerospace Corporation. The UAC is a multi-planetary conglomerate with radioactive waste facilities on Mars and its two moons, Phobos and Deimos. With no action for 50 million miles, your day consists of suckin' dust and watchin' restricted flicks in the rec room.

For the last four years the military, UAC's biggest supplier, has used the remote facilities on Phobos and Deimos to conduct various secret projects, including research on inter-dimensional space travel. So far, they have been able to open gateways between Phobos and Deimos, throwing a few gadgets into one and watching them come out the other. Recently, however, the gateways have become dangerously unstable. Military "volunteers" entering them have either disappeared or been stricken with a strange form of insanity--babbling vulgarities, bludgeoning anything that breathes and finally, suffering an untimely death of full body explosion. Matching heads with torsos to send to the folks became a fulltime job. Latest military reports state that the research is suffering a small set-back, but everything is under control.

A few hours ago, Mars recieved a garbled message from Phobos. "We require immediate military support. Something evil is coming out of the gateways! Computer systems have gone Berserk!" The rest was incoherent. Soon afterwards, Deimos simply vanished from the sky. Since then attempts to establish contact with either moon have been unsuccessful.

You and your buddies, the only combat troops for 50 million miles were sent up to Phobos. You were ordered to secure the perimeter of the base while the rest of the team went inside. For several hours, your radio picked up the sounds of combat: guns firing, men yelling orders, screams, bones cracking, then finally, scilence. Seems your buddies are dead.

IT'S UP TO YOU
Things aren't looking too good. You'll never navigate off the planet on your own. Plus, all the heavy weapons were taken by the assault team leaving you with only a pistol. Whatever or whoever killed your buddies deserves a few pellets in the head. If only you could get your hands on a plasma rifle or even a shotgun, you could take a few down on your way out. Securing your helmet, you exit the landing pod. Hopefully you can find more substantial firepower somewhere within the station.

As you walk through the main entrance of the base, you hear animal-like growls echoing throughout the distant corridors. They know you're here. There's no turning back now...
