Check any major news outlet for the story, but that's pretty much it.
Discuss.
Good reasoning as to why they did it earlier then anounnced, but making it earlier doesn't necesarilly mean it will prevent acts of violence, they'll just take place on the 30th without using the power transfer as a reason. |

| in my opinion, Iraq is just going to continue attacks on US soldiers, and we cant pull out of there now and just close our eyes to the situation because then the new government(if you can call it that) is just going to collapse overnight and the country be thrown into total anarchy. basically the only thng that keeps the citizens in line is an authority figure that induces fear into the people kind of like what saddam was doing. im not saying saddam was a good leader, but basically it seems like the iraqi citizens were happy with him the way theyre going. |

except those 200,000 kurds gassed to death.
the only way for us to stablize Iraq is for us to remain present to facilitate the new government. Our absence does not mean the acts of violence will stop, all it will mean is that the acts would be directed towards the interim government of iraq. This is truly a situation where if you win the heart of the people, you win the war |

| Ehh.. IMO the transfering of power to the Iraqis is nothing but a formality. I doubt it'll mean a lot more than that. |

| yeah im with everyone else on this. bush just wasted his time in Iraq basically somewhere in the process of getting from point A to point B, he turned around and came back to A. hes back to where he started, even though saddam is out of the way. |

I think some of you guys are crazy
The war, like it or not, had to happen eventually. Clinton kicked the can down the road, and fired a few missles for good measure. Clinton is an entirely different thread, but can anyone think of one major policy change he got accomplished? any major risk he took to better our country? Was anything great accomplished, at all, during his presidency? IMO He kicked a whole lot of issues down the road. Sure, the economy was all right. Thats cool.
The way we have handled things over there hasn't been stellar, but you have to expect slip ups when your dealing with a fairly significant population that don't mind attaching a bomb to themselves, and letting it rip.
I'd agree that bush has handled things fairly poorly in iraq, but I just don't know if any other president could have done it better. |

i dont think Clinton accomplished much, but at least he didnt throw the economly in the toilet and his admin. looked away from threats of terrorists hitting american landmarks with commercial airlines.
I dont think that this war was needed nor justified, we found nothing and saddam is out of power but we continue to lose soldiers
I think that had we had a different president in office that this war wouldnt happen, Bush is just taking off from where his dad left of from. |

Nothing is inevitable. Even if it was going to happen in the future, we did not have the correct motivations or resources for such an attack and occupation at the time it ocurred. |
