| Quote: |
A man who put his body up for auction on eBay as a joke reportedly had a serious reply from someone claiming to be a cannibal.
Daniel O'Dee from Salford posted the joke advert after a drunken dare, and it was quickly removed by eBay staff.
But he was then shocked to get an email from someone calling himself 'Donnie, the Hanover cannibal' offering £2,000 for a 'fresh corpse'.
The emailer even claimed there was a syndicate of eBay users who helped fund the cost of buying corpses.
Even after Mr O'Dee emailed back explaining that it was a joke, 'Donnie' replied saying he was disappointed.
"I'm disappointed that is was your own body you were selling as I want one as soon as possible," the message read.
"If you have any other access to a fresh corpse I would be interested. I guarantee that it will be more than a fair price."
When Mr O'Dee did not reply to that email, he then received a death threat.
He said: "I'm trying to put it out of my mind. It's safe to say I won't be visiting Germany." |

lol
i agree
and cmon guys, dont resort to things like "i thought they lived in tribes"
Its a way of life, one I don't personally agree with, but its somewhat religious to some people...
You don't hear people saying, "wow, since when did christians get email? I thought they lived in churches" or something like this (bad example I know, but yet again, its another late night =P) |

yeah, thats another way to lok at it. My teacher once read me a paper that told of the barbaric ways of a society, the people known as the snacirema. if you look close thats americans spelled backwards, we didnt know this until she finished reading. It weas a different point of view from outsiders andwhat they think of our culture and it freaked the kids out. I must admit i was freaked out a bit too. So you never reakky know a culture unless youve lived it. and even then you still might not realize how it looks to others |

| It seems like that article would be better if they just gave the culture a completely new name rather than making it obvious and ruining it for some people by just spelling Americans backwards. The essay sounds vaguely familiar to me. I probably read it at one point or another myself, but don't remember it too well. Is there anything in there that really strikes you that you'd like to share? |
