| |
Although probably not of immediate consequence to most of us, the University of Texas at Dallas has put into place a policy that bans students living in campus housing to have personal Wi-Fi hot-spots claiming it interferes with university Wi-Fi (free).
This brings into question who has the right to say who can and can't use public airwaves. Students argue that only the federal government has the right to disallow them access to public airwaves, however the university is not backing down, and continues to remove student hot-spots.

| A the U of MN they don't allow you to add your own wireless access points either, but they tell you that it's for 'security reasons'. |
