Movie :: Shrek 2
Voice Talent :: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas
Genre :: Animated Comedy
Rating :: 8/10

Shrek 2 is an enjoyable escapist movie well worth the $7.50 you plunk down to see it. All of the original voice talents return to the screen, including: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy. New voice talents include John Cleese and Julie Andrews as Fiona's parents, the King and Queen of Far Far Away, Rupert Everett as the pompous mama's boy, Prince Charming, and Antonio Banderas as a lively Puss In Boots.

The movie begins where the last one left off, with Shrek honeymooning in the company of his new bride, Princess Fiona. The challenge Shrek must overcome in this sequel is to win over Fiona's parents and achieve the king's blessing of their marriage. While in the process of doing so he must also compete with a clever and conniving fairy godmother who wishes to separate the princess and her new husband. The theme of Shrek is repeated in this sequel, "it's what's on the inside that counts," but this repetition doesn't diminish the quality of the movie.

With its many pop-culture references, Shrek 2 may go over the heads of some younger children, while providing laugh out loud entertainment for adults and teenagers alike. Although the younger kids might not catch the clever references to movies, like Lord of the Rings, and Joan Rivers doing a fashion commentary for the Medieval Entertainment network, there's enough farting, burping, and dancing to make this movie enjoyable across all generations.

Note: There's a bonus clip after the credits.

Yah, unfortunatly, rendering billions of polygons for a movie (over hundreds of hours), vs rendering billions in real time isn't quite a comparison =P
