Well, it looks like the last of the original Winamp devs have left Nullsoft. A few people are remaining around for minor touch-ups, but for the most part, Nullsoft is dead, Winamp is no more... This seems like a huge thing, being that Winamp is one of the major MP3 players for Windows users. All this comes after AOL split into 4 earlier this week. Kinda sad to see Winamp go...

The Register has a bit more.

the site will still be up, and you'll be able to download it, but there wont be future releases. Its just going to sit and become outdated.
Anyone wanna bet on what program will take its place in the MP3 world?

foobar has been growing in popularity recently, and fairly quickly too. I too, would support a windows XMMS.

for sure, plenty
gaim, a trillian type program (AIM, ICQ, MSN, Jabber, etc) has a Windows port, as do many other programs (it was just the first to pop into my head)

Openoffice was originally a linux program, right? That's somewhat common...i guess.

What about iTunes? I've seen many people running that even with winamp around.
