AMD outsells Intel in US retail for the first time

San Diego (CA) - AMD scored a major win against Intel during the back-to-school season. According to Current Analysis, AMD outsold Intel for the very first time in US retail over the period of a whole month. More than half of all computer systems US stores sold during September carried an AMD processor.

I can't believe it happened really. Intel has dominated the market for so many years, and has such a vast network of partners. Kudos to AMD for finally penetrating Intel's fortress. In the end, consumers win when we see this kind of competition.

Especially because some places (like Dell) refuse to stock AMD.

I'm sure they don't stock AMD because they're getting some insane deal from Intel for selling exclusively Intel. Kinda like the University of Minnesota and their Coca-Cola partnership.
